Job Responsibilities:
Senior microbiologist involved in all aspects of microbiological support for the development and manufacture of solid, liquid and injectable clinical supplies. Will validate and perform all types of pharmacopoeia microbial assays for qualification of water, raw materials, packaging components, in process and release testing of products, and environmental monitoring. Responsibilities might include planning and overseeing environmental monitoring programs for viables andparticulates. Will also author SOP?s, method and validation documents, as wellas conduct investigations and issue reports.
Job Requirements/Education:
The position requires a BS or MS in microbiology or related science with 5 to 10 years experience in pharmaceutical microbiology. At least 3 years of experience in support of an aseptic facility is required. The candidate will be responsible for the analysis and documentation of the microbiology testing and data in compliance with regulatory, GMP and departmental SOP requirements. Experience in support of equipment validation such as autoclaves and vial washers and or rapid microbial or sanitizing agent validation is a plus. The candidate must have strong scientific, analytical and conceptual skills. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills will be necessary to work effectively in team situations.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.

 PCR Diagnostics Laboratory Technician

 BS/BA in Biology or related science.  0-2 years of lab experience – industry or academia.  Must be familiar with PCR diagnostics, media preparation, aseptic techniques, working with reagents and buffers – and other various molecular bioprocessing techniques.

 The qualified candidate will become part of a dynamic team of innovative scientists within the bioprocessing laboratory.  The candidate will be responsible for the quality control of their existing PCR line – training will be provided – In addition to analyze the data using various data analysis software and quantitative methods.

 Microbiologist

 BS in Microbiology or related science.  Entry level opportunity 0-1 years of industry experience.  Experience with cultures, working under a hood, bacteria and fungi identification, aseptic techniques, pipetting etc.  Experience with plate counts, identification is a plus!

 Environmental Technician

 Requirements:

AS/BS in the Biological Sciences. At least one year previous environmental monitoring experience desired.  Good math and writing skills required.

Responsibilities: 

1.Performs environmental monitoring assessments of (at minimum) the Manufacturing, Process, and Clinical areas of the DPT Lakewood facility.
2.Logs samples into the appropriate logbook.
3.Records all pertinent information on the appropriate paperwork.
4.Maintains adequate inventory of media and materials required for testing.
5.Assists the Microbiology Supervisor with Quarterly/Yearly Environmental Monitoring Trending Reports.
6.Upon request, prepares microbiological media.
7.Notifies Microbiology Supervisor, or designee, when out-of-specification results are obtained and completes the appropriate documentation.

Microbiologist

Requirements:

AS/BS in the Biological Sciences.  Four years of relevant experience with an Associates degree. 0-3 yrs with BS.

Responsibilities:

Performs various types of microbiological testing under minimal or no supervision.  Evaluates and reports data.

1. Identifies and records, in appropriate logbook, samples received for microbial analysis.
2. Performs microbial content testing on raw materials, and bulk and finished products, per USP, in-house or customer methods.  Evaluates and records data.
3. Performs bioburden testing on pre-sterilized bulk product and/or components.  Evaluates and records data.
4.Performs analysis of water samples and environmental samples.  Evaluates and records data.
5.Performs quality control testing of media, reagents and identification materials.
6.Maintains adequate inventory of media and materials required for testing.
7.Notifies laboratory supervisor, or designee, when out-of-specification results are obtained, and completes appropriate documentation.
