The Thomas Jefferson M.S. Music Department is staffed by: Celia Cyuresko, vocal music teacher and chorus advisor Allison Neggers, Instrumental Music Teacher and Band Advisor Xiao Ming Liu, String teacher.
The 6th. Grade students take a required general music cours for 7 weeks. They may participate in 6th. grade afterschool on Mondays from 3:15-4:00 and in 6th grade chorus after school on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:00. The 7th Graders may elect to participate.
In Band, Chorus or String Class for one period a day 5 days a week, for 2 marking periods the 8th graders may opt to take these electives. The 8th graders my also elect band, chorus or string class 5 days a week for 2 marking periods of a full year. Additionally, the 8th graders may take a piano class as a 2 marking period elective. Any 7th or 8th grader who wishes to participate in the chorsu but is not enrolled in the elective class, may attend rehearsals on Thursday after school from 3:15-4:00. The after school Band rehearsal is on Wednesday from 3:15-4:00.
