  • Diplodocus, means "Double Beam" because it had a double row of small bones under its backbone to support its weight
  • It is in the group of dinosaurs called Sauropods.

  • It ate only plants (herbivore).

  • It ate stones to help break up its food in its stomach.
  • It liked to eat soft plants that were found on soft ground. It would stand on hard ground and reach out with its long neck to get the food.

  • It could live for 100 years.
  • It was not very smart.
