Diplodocus or Brachiosaurus
These were the biggest dinosaurs! They  were gigantic, slow-moving, tiny-headed,  plant-eaters. They were called sauropods. They had very long necks which were useful for reaching tall, wide trees. They also had a huge, heavy tail. They could live for 100 years. These sauropods are the largest land animals ever discovered, but they were smaller than blue whales!

Tyrannosaurus Rex
This was one of the the biggest meat eating (carnivorous) dinosaurs.

Apatosaurus (Used to be named Brontosaurus)
This was one of the largest land animals that ever lived. Some of its footprints found in Colorado, United States were about 36 inches wide!

Ankylosaurus
This was the heaviest armored plant-eating dinosaur. These types of dinosaurs are called Ankylosaurs.

Triceratops
This was the biggest horned, plant-eating dinosaur.  These types of dinosaurs are called Ceratopsians.

Lambeosaurus
This was a type of common plant-eating dinosaur called Duck-bills. They had the most teeth of all the dinosaurs! This type of dinosaur has a hollow bony crest on top of its head.

Stegosaurus
This was one of the biggest plant-eating dinosaurs that had plates and spikes. These dinosaurs  are called Stegosaurs.

Velociraptor
This was one of the fastest and smartest dinosaurs. They probably weren't any faster than modern-day land animals. It was a  bird-like meat eater that ran on two feet. It had light bodies with hollow bones.
