Diplodocus
or Brachiosaurus
These
were the biggest dinosaurs! They were gigantic, slow-moving, tiny-headed,
plant-eaters. They were called sauropods. They had very long necks which
were useful for reaching tall, wide trees. They also had a huge, heavy
tail. They could live for 100 years. These sauropods are the largest land
animals ever discovered, but they were smaller than blue whales!

was one of the the biggest meat eating (carnivorous) dinosaurs.
Apatosaurus
(Used to be named Brontosaurus)
This
was one of the largest land animals that ever lived. Some of its footprints
found in Colorado, United States were about 36 inches wide!
Ankylosaurus
This
was the heaviest armored plant-eating dinosaur. These types of dinosaurs
are called Ankylosaurs.
Triceratops
This
was the biggest horned, plant-eating dinosaur. These types of dinosaurs
are called Ceratopsians.
Lambeosaurus
This
was a type of common plant-eating dinosaur called Duck-bills. They had
the most teeth of all the dinosaurs! This type of dinosaur has a hollow
bony crest on top of its head.
Stegosaurus
This
was one of the biggest plant-eating dinosaurs that had plates and spikes.
These dinosaurs are called Stegosaurs.
Velociraptor
This
was one of the fastest and smartest dinosaurs. They probably weren't any
faster than modern-day land animals. It was a bird-like meat eater
that ran on two feet. It had light bodies with hollow bones.
