Alien Planetscapes
I was in this electronic band for several years in the early 1990's. The lineup at that time consisted of:

  • L.G. Mair - bass

  • Len Pace - drums

  • John Potenza - guitar, FX

  • John Cordes - violin, mandolin, FX

  • Louis Boone - synthesisers, percussion, tapes, and samples

  • Doug Walker - keyboards, woodwinds, synthesisers, FX

Alien Planetscapes is the long time brain child of Doug Walker, who started the band in the early 70's playing textural synthesiser music. By the time I joined it was becoming an all out spacerock ensemble. Our motto, coined by L.G. Mair, of "lets make shit up" was what we did best. The influences in this band were diverse, and it showed. The method to our madness consisted of improvised pieces lasting approximately 23 minutes (or however long the tape we were working with was). If you've ever heard of this band, please let me know. AP has numerous cassette releases on Carl Howard's independent Audiophile Tapes label.
