...no small task, but I'll give it a try...what about time? is time really all it's cracked up to be? I believe that time travel is possible, even necessary for the continuation of the existence of the universe. Time is relative, obviously, and the farther in time we move, the more likely it is that we can go back to previous events. Whether it be through memory, actions, photographs, or Dicks Picks. Can the effect of an event in time be so catastrophic that it affects the past? Can a future event that we have not witnessed yet affect the present? What effect does the affects of an effect have on the NOW? For example, Did the effect of atomic weapons against Japan in 1944 affect the course of action taken by Japan in 1941? Is it possible that the effect of the bombs was so great that it affected Japans action of attacking Pearl Harbor as a defense against extinction of the Japanese people, though it had not yet occurred? Was the effect of the death of Jerry Garcia so great that it transcended time and affected the energy of the band in 1995, diminishing the effect of the audience to maintain a peaceful, synergistic existence, hence 'the tour from hell'? We all must consider the affect we have on our reality and the affect we can have on other's realities. I believe we can travel back in time, it is all a matter of electromagnetic radiation...Light, sound, time, matter....are all waves in the cosmic sense, part of an all encompassing radiation. If we can jump from one wavelength to another we can move forward or back, become solid or gaseous, time, or light. It is true, because I have done it. Dicks Pick 4 is an example. I 1st heard this show in 1974 on a hissy 8-track tape with many cuts. As time went on I acquired a slightly less hissy cassette in 1978, thus moving me closer to the actual event in the past. In 1993 I got a 1st generation cassette direct from a DAT, a numerical approximation of the actual event. In 1990, while doing library research I delved into the past and retrieved the NY Times from the week of 2/14/70 and got a copy of the original ad for the show. Soon after, I picked up DP#4 through the mail, now obviously I lost a little time by using the US Mail, but nonetheless I have now a digital copy of the actual event, and an ad from that weeks paper. Recently I became aware of many photographs from that event. Lastly I acquired a copy of the early show. Theoretically, using that digital copy of the event, coupled with the photographs, coordinates in time and space should be able to be established and with the proper jump, or decrease in energy level in the present we all should be able to hop onto the proper wavelength to place us in front of the Fillmore East on 2/13/70, with tickets in hand. The effect that would have on me would then affect the way I will live my future life, as the effect hearing the 8-track when I was 13 affected my life presently. Any questions? .
