Our repertoire consists of an eclectic mix of originals, traditionals, and cover songs. Our music incorporates rock, jazz, bluegrass, blues, and eastern rhythms for a unique style.
Terra Incognita is the concept behind this band as well as the name. It means "unknown territory", we venture into terra incognita every time we play. We wouldn't have it any other way.

John and Steve began playing original music in 1980 in New Paltz, NY as "Tony & Sheila". As other musicians came along a couple of bands sprang up, most notably the bluegrass inspired Hickoryswitch. A typical performance consisted of bluegrass tunes played by the whole band as well as several spin-off sets of 2 or 3 members in various combinations performing jazz improvization, traditional fiddle tunes, and original music. It was a great way to satisfy all our widely varied tastes and musical backgrounds. Through the 80's and 90's Steve and John continued writing music and devloping the concept of the band. In 1994 Lenny Pace was added on tablas and percussion eastern sound. In 1997 bassist Charile Muscari was added and the band went electric.
