Good to hear from you, Jim.

Like your father, I also graduated from Rutgers College of Engineering as
an EE -- in 1971 -- initially working for the DOD at Fort Monmouth, NJ, on
computer-based telecommunications systems. However, I went over to the
"dark side," becoming a patent lawyer and litigator in 1979. I now head up
the patent group at a large Manhattan-based law firm.

Does W1QUO remember anything of the Rutgers Amateur Radio Club in the
pre-WWII days? I was president in the late 60's, when it was WA2NPP. When I
first arrived in the mid-60's, there was nothing left of the club, except
some old dusty equipment in the basement of one of the old "quad" dorms.

BTW, I think it is especially cool how you are now the Donald H. Menzel
Professor of Astrophysics, since Menzel was also a ham, W1JEX. We will also
be listing him soon. Congrats again on being elected as a Fellow of the
IEEE this past spring.

Dear Steve,

Thanks very much for the information about the web site - I did not know
it existed. I was glad to see that you have Grote Reber W9GFZ listed, the
father of radio astronomy, my field.

btw. My father is a 1940 graduate of Rutgers, W2IVI, and now W1QUO.

Jim
