Need meeting lists? Have news or ideas?

The latest main printing of our meeting list, done in a lively spring green, is dated March 14, 2007. To get lists for yourself or your group, e-mail the Editors, or call Paul at (718) 727-7119. The cost is $5 for packs of 100, per A. A.'s 7th Tradition, to cover printing costs. Single lists, as well as those for use in institutional commitments, are free, as always.

You can find here Printable Lists and Printable Secretary Notes.

We now also have (unofficial) S. I. Al-Anon and Narcotics Anonymous meeting lists available, as a service to our members and friends.

Please send corrections, changes, anniversary notices, news, comments, questions and suggestions to the Editors. Changes will be made at once, as well as listed below under Recent Changes, and in the online Secretary Notes, as appropriate. Meeting changes will also be listed on the Thursday page of the downloadable (printable) lists and Notes, as they occur, until the next main printing.

“Open” and “Closed” Meetings

“Open” and “Open Discussion” meetings (marked “O” and “OD” in the printed lists) are for anyone with an interest in recovery from alcoholism.

“Open” meetings (as used here) are “Speaker” meetings, usually with a leader and two or more speakers, but without participation from the floor. “Open Discussion” meetings do include general participation, and more closely resemble most closed meetings. [Note]

Meetings not marked “O”, “OD”, “Open” or “Open Discussion” are closed — that is, attendance is limited to those who may themselves have “a desire to stop drinking”.

Notes

Please note that all meetings at the Messiah Lutheran Center (1 PM, Thurs.-Sat.) are held at the Kroon Center, 195 Jefferson Blvd./Drumgoole Road East — not the pastor's residence at 174 Jefferson Blvd. This applies to the Annadale Group, Friday Afternoon Step Group and Steps by the Sea groups, respectively. [5-29-07]

For those wondering why the 'Foggy Bottom Group' (12/1/06) and its many meetings at the Port Richmond 'sober club' are not listed here or in our printed lists, please inquire of The Editors.
    With regard to this 'group' and its effects – and one among many reasons for the non-listing – several meetings in the immediate neighborhood of the 'club' are in danger of closing, due to defections and competition from 'club' meetings. Support is vital for the survival of the Early Risers (Tues., 10:30 AM, 8/24/78); Sunnyside Group beginners (Wed., 7:15 PM, 2/1/49); and New Hope Group (Fri., 10 AM, 6/14/77) meetings. The dates are those at which these groups began, and indicate many years of service to A. A. here. Please help turn them around. [4-27-07]

What is Alcoholics Anonymous?

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women
who share their experience, strength and hope with each other
that they may solve their common problem
and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The only requirement for membership
is a desire to stop drinking.

There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership;
we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination,
politics, organization or institution;
does not wish to engage in any controversy;
neither endorses nor opposes any causes.

Our primary purpose is to stay sober
and to help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.
