The Staten Island A. A. Meeting List has been in print for some 25+ years. These days 10,000 copies are printed at a time, roughly every six months.
In between such printings, corrections and changes are listed here, as well as in the printable secretary notes. This includes updated, printable versions of the list itself.
Those files, compressed for quicker downloading, can be gotten here. Included are the 2-page ‘SIAA Meeting List.doc’ file, comprising the front and back pages of the list, as well as the ‘Amaze.ttf’ font, used for the "Meeting Makers Make It!" slogan. This font is not installed on most of our computers, and has to be added for the list to look and print correctly.
To print your own lists, download and unzip the 2 files — move the Amaze.ttf file to your fonts folder (C:\Windows\Fonts on my computer) — open the "SIAA Meeting List.doc" file in Microsoft's Word program — and print them (page 1 for the front and page 2 for the back) on legal-size paper, in landscape mode. Voilà!
These files are also available uncompressed: the list itself, and the Amaze font. Finally, for those who have difficulty with the Word format, we now have a PDF (Portable Document Format) version, which can also be printed.
Current Printable Secretary Notes are also available. They are much easier to print from than the web page.
With the help of a great many members, these documents — web pages, meeting lists and notes — are constantly updated to reflect the latest information. As changes are made, the dates on pages, lists and notes are changed as well.
Home printing from these meeting list files is the source, by the way, of lists you may find with dates since the latest bulk printing (October 9, 2006).
Except for closings, the main printing no longer lists all changes since the previous edition. Such changes are now indicated by check marks before the meeting name, with double underlining of the changes themselves. This leaves more room for notes, names and phone numbers. Changes that occur between the bulk printings do continue to be indicated separately (below the Thursday meetings) in the downloadable printed list.
Details of all changes, since the September, 2002 printed list, can be found in the Meeting Changes section of the online meeting list, as well as in the online secretary notes for each year.
We now also have a "short form" of the meeting list, printable on letter-size paper. Please let us know what you think of it. Not as good for carrying around — it's missing a lot of material from the regular list, definitely lacks space for names and numbers, and isn't as durable in the pocket — but it serves some purposes. It is certainly better suited to most home printers and copying machines.
Finally, for those with narrowband connections, both versions are available together in compressed format, with the Amaze font. Please let us know what you think of them. — Meeting List Editors
