married to Martha A. Raymond in Waldo, Maine on 15 September
1855. I can find no further records for him, but I did find
Martha living with her daughter Olive in Claremont, NH. Her
name then was Johnson.

My name is Angela Joy Cashmore and I was born on the
6th February 1947. My mothers name was Elsie May Burgess
and she was a spinster. I was adopted 6weeks later to a
wonderful family but I would love to find my real mother
or someone who may know anything about her. The only
information that I have is that she was around 20years old
when I was born, although I am not sure it could be a
little older or younger. On my birth certificate she put
her address as 'Wisteria' Salford Road, Bidford Upon
Avon,England.There is no record of her living there only
a family of Goulbournes. Please, Please, Please, if anyone

Hello cousins. I believe that ya'll overlooked an Burgess in
your survey of Arkansas 1850 Census. My tie to the Burgesses
are through Elizabeth Amanda Burgess who was married to
Thornberry A. Clark and sister to Nancy Burgess who was
living with the Thornberry Clark family during the
enumeration of the 1850 Lafayette County Arkansas census.
Have info for Elizabeth after 1850, but alas, none for her

I am researching my husband's mother's family. Her father
was William Frank Burgess Jr. 1909-1971 born in Linthicum
Heights, Anne Arundel County, MD. His parents were William
Sr. (1876-1957)and Sarah Cornelia Linthicum(1866-1922).
William Sr. was born in Hall, Prince George's County, MD to
Frank Porter Burgess(1846-1928) and Sophia C.(1836-1908).
To be honest I have only begin the research on this line
and have not done any extensive research on it yet. I got
especially curious because I descend from Col. William
Burgess buried at All Hallows, AA Co., MD. My mother-in-
law does not believe that these Burgess families are
connected, I'm likely to agree. Maybe someone out there is
chasing the same family I am, would be glad to email if you

My father was Malcolm Winston Burgess, born March 17, 1916
in Concordia, Kansas. I have a photo of a young girl and
the photo is identified on the back as Marjorie Ann
Burgess, Dec. 1959, age 3. It is possible that she is my
half sister and I would love to find her. I recently found
a half brother I never knew I had. Any help would be

I am trying to find information on my grandmother:
Rosa Burgess: b.06-16-1889, in W.Virginia. In 11-27-1905
she married Alf. Mabry, in Poteau Oklahoma. Very little is
known about her. she died of breast cancer about 1930-
1935. I believe, but do not know for sure she had a
brother named Lonnie. (I found a picture post card
addressed to her, and calling her sis, of 2 babies
saying,"here are my 2 little ones." We have been unable to
find a death certificate for her. If anyone can help I

Healey went to Australia sometime in the late 1800's from
Liverpool. He married and had a daughter named Alma Healey.
Alma Healey married a Fred Burgess and had 2 daughters
named Yolanda and Philippa. Would love to find out about
my Burgess relatives.

William Rives was born abt. 1680 in Surry co. VA. and died
in 1751 in Granville Co. His second wife was Margaret
Burgess and they had several children. Their last son was
named Burgess for a given name and the name Burgess was
subsequently used as a given name in several later
generations in the Reeves Family. This is about all I
have. I would very much like to know more about Margaret.
She may have married another Reeves after William Died.

Trying to find descendants of William (Bill) BURGESS of
Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was married to May HUNT, I believe
born in Utah in early 1900s?. They had children Bill Jr,
and Evelyn. May Hunt was the daughter of Thomas Benton Hunt
(born 1868 OH, died in Oregon) and Jane Henrietta Taylor
(born 1878 UT, died in Oregon). We are planning a reunion

I have been looking for information on Okey Lee Burgess (my
grandfather)born in 1897, we believe his fathers name was
Peyton and they lived in Laurel City (I don't find that on

I have in my lineage Mary Burgess who married Theodore
Cassander Eggleston. They had my Grandfather, Charles
Franklin Eggleston and other kids, but I am needing more
info on Mary Burgess, such as birth and place, then death
and place. On Theodore I have all info except for place of
marriage. Charles Eggleston married mar Jane Lettie Watts
and they had Loveda Eggleston, and she married J.D. Powell,
so that is where I am, their kid, Joan Powell, of the 13
kids they had.

Searching for John Burges who had a daughter named Ann
Burges. She married John White b. 1575. John White was
the son of Mary White and John Wesley b. 1636. John Wesley
was the son of Susanna Annesley and Samuel Wesley.

My father is James Ralph Burgess, Jr. His father was James
Ralph Sr. and he was married to Mary Talulah Parks. They
were from Georgia. His father was Thomas Burgess and his
wife was Sallie.

Samuel W. Burgess (ca. 1780-18 January 1847) and wife Maria
Fulton(28 September 1801-1 November 1852) were great-
greatgrandparents of mine. In 25 years of researching, I
have been unable to identify Samuel's parents. I suspect he
may have been a William Burgess since that was the name
they gave their first male child (the schoolmaster William
Burgess of Rockingham County is a suspect but his records
don't show a son Samuel). Samuel's burial group is in
Greenwood Cemetery, Bridgewater, Rockingham County, VA. I
have found documents and other records showing Samuel.
Samuel farmed in Rockingham and Augusta Counties.I descend
from his son James H. Burgess and wife Mary Jane Roller who
moved to Missouri in 1869. Can provide pretty complete data
on Samuel's descendants. Would appreciate any suggestions
on his ancestry. One census record for a son indicates
Samuel might have been born in Maryland.

Searching for information on my ggrandfather, James LeRoy
Burgess b abt 1882, prob in KS. Census info states that his
father was born in Missouri. His mother's name was Carrie,
her second marriage was to a Mr. Kramer/Cramer. James had a
half brother named Will who had a homestead in the area of
Holden, MO.
James married Bertha Lee Davison, abt 1901 and had 2
natural children: Ralph Leroy, and Dorothy Mae. They took
in about 4 other children from the welfare dept. Some of
their names are: Lewis, Henrietta and Agnes.

the daughter of Jacob Lawson Burgess..and the trail goes
on..But..She married a Mortica Hastings who seems to have
existed without a trace..they adopted a foundling child
named John Mortica Hastings..again, no information on the

I am looking for any information regarding a Marshall
Burgess,born about 1820 Canada (possibly Quebec), died in
1905 in Constable, Franklin Co., NY. He was living with a
woman who was supposedly Flora Shepard, they had a largew
family among whom was a Marshall Jr. born 1844, Louis born
1845, George, Frank, Nellie, Melinda. They came to Franklin
Co. NY about 1850 according to the 1900 census. It is
possible Marshall Burgess Sr. may have had a brother named
Henry, who was in Bangor, Franklin Co. in 1880.
It is interesting to note that Marshall Burgess Jr. is found
in 1875 census living with Oliver Lowell and his wife Sophia
Lowell, both born 1790's and listed as Marshall Jr.'s
grandparents. I am guessing Sophia is the actual grandparent
and that Oliver Lowell is her second husband. But not sure
if she grandparent on his father? or mother's side?

Any help or clues to anyone in this family is appreciated.

mass.i have spent three years restoring the greek
revival,stone walls and fields.i would be interested in
knowing anything about who lived, born or died in the
house.we found a grave stone of william burgess died 1858
at 26. also any in put on ghost in house.prior owner sears
family found english ww1 pistol in attic. when it was moved
from attic crazy things started happening.when it was moved
