Here in Burgessville, Ontario Canada I am researching my Burgess lineage. My great grandmother was Anna Burgess 1874- 1971 daughter of Charles Esmond Burgess 1847-1932 and Andrena Ross. Looking for parents of Job D. Burgess,born 1810 in Nova Scotia, Canada. Married Hariette Duncan. Children, Hiram, Edelbird, Mary E., Emma Elizabeth Franklin, Amos. All born in Nova Scotia. They moved to ME and appeared in the 1860 Census. Any help would be great.

Children were Augustus Webster Burgess, b 27 May 1834, Sarah Whitney Burgess, b 16 Sept 1842, Franklin Burgess, b 16 Nov 1840, and Emory (Emery) Burgess b 2 Mar 1847. All were born in Abington. My line is from Emory, who married Mary Lewis, born in England, child and my grandfather, Albert Franklin Burgess, b 2 Oct 1873 in Rockland, Plymouth, MA, child and my father Emory Dwight Burgess, b 26 June 1907, Melrose Heights, MA and me, Dwight Spaulding Burgess, b 5 Sept 1935, Mt Holly, New Jersey. They had 5 children - Nancy Woodard b. 1846, William A. Woodard b. Dec. 1848, David Barfell Woodard b. Nov. 12, 1850 in AL d. Sept. 8, 1938 in Cullman, AL, married to Elizabeth Parcella Alexander, Sarah Elizabeth Woodard b. 1852, and Asenath (Sennie) Woodard b. Oct. 14, 1853. Nancy Louisa Burgess Woodard and her husband possibly lived in the Morgan and Cullman County areas of AL for a time. Tobias died in Morgan County.

Looking for info on Welcome Burgess who married Waity Preston of South Killingly, CT. This is not the Welcome Burgess (1801-1828) of Providence, RI who married Eleanor Burrill. Welcome was likely born about 1790 in/around Foster, RI. I estimate that he and Waity Preston were married about 1812. They had five children: Orrin, Alden, Sampson, Arnold, and Laura.

Searching for family of Joseph Burgess (1752-1779) m.Catherine Pangle (b.10 Mar 1757) in 1773.
