The Soapbox: Rants and Commentary:

Give Her Liberty or Give Her Nothing

Composed by (guebosque@prodigy.net)

As i read the commentary on abortion posted previously, I couldn't help but respond with 2 cents of my own.

I consider myself a pro-choice person, but not pro abortion. About a month ago I watched bay buchanon (i believe thats the womans' name anyways) and several woman conservatives speak over a variety of femenist issues. Religious conservatives or republicans frighten me. I am a Democratic voting - Catholic and I have set beliefs of my own, but i simply can not agree with the view that one's creed dictates the action of this situation. I must say, its imperative that the woman acts upon a situational crisis in the correct way, but that way must be determined by deciding what benefits her and the potential child in the future. It isn't always fair that for the sake of not "killing" a fetus, or mass of cells if you will, that we jeopardize the life of a child that will not always be provided for, that might enter a life of hell or whatever. Call is extreme, call it irrational, but lets face it, one's right to choose for the benefit of the 2 has to be overriden in this situation. As far as a religous say goes, I agree, the world loopholed itself while trying to uphold a higher beings' word on moral and "ethical" acts but religous propaganda goes too far. what incenses me is that christian conservatives win more of those votes that we need sometimes...because we JUST CANT go off killing innocent babies. That's ridiculous. I only advocate those who are in favor of deciding for what is right for them and for their futures; not those who are coersed into something that they cannot handle. I am not one to engage in premarital sex, but i'm not an Angel of God. The only thing I have to say is, "rock the vote for a womans' right to choose". Give her liberty or give her nothing.
