I've withheld the name to prevent the author from any further slings and arrows, since it's too easy. hi i would just like to say that i totally agree with the southern baptist people who wanted to boy cott disney i dont understand the person who wrote this letter at the beginning of this Web site saying they are a christian also and talking about looking at the new testament if you would read the new testament in the book of romans and you would see what the bible has to say about men with men and woman with woman it an abomination in the sight of the LORD and any christian who agree with that just bears the name of christian and is not truly walking according to the word now about the part with the little mermaid there in nothing wrong with that movie but it would take too much to mention some of disney other movies they can be very adult oriented this is my personal option
Dan Reponds:hi i would just like to say that i totally agree with the southern baptist people who wanted to boy cott disney i dont understand the person who wrote this letter at the beginning of this Web site saying they are a christian also and talking about looking at the new testament First of all, it is not un-Christian to use punctuation. Look in the Bible, you'll see a lot of it. if you would read the new testament in the book of romans and you would see what the bible has to say about men with men and woman with woman it an abomination in the sight of the LORD and any christian who agree with that just bears the name of christian and is not truly walking according to the word Yes, I have read the New Testament, and it is in the Bible very plain to see. However, it is an instruction on behavior, it says nothing anywhere in the Bible about taking action against or punishing those who partake in the objected behavior. I found no passage that mentions anything about rallying the masses against a company that doesn't bar homosexuals access to their theme parks. One of Jesus's most basic lessons is "Judge not, lest ye be judged." If you believe yourself free enough from sin to cast the first stone, then fire away. Being you are human, I would assume that you are not free from sin, so perhaps it would be best put the rock down and stop trying to save people from themselves. God, in His wisdom, is the only judge of men's souls. It is Christians' job to educate others on the Word of God, not to censor what others do.
I would welcome any examples you can come up with. I agree that my two year-old isn't ready for, say, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, but when she is ready she'll not only see the film but be introduced to the Victor Hugo book that inspired it. It's a classic tale of the sanctimonious ostracizing the unfortunate who fail to conform to "normal" standards. At least I hope to show it to her, provided the Morality Police haven't burned down all the libraries to save us from The Hunchback, Tom Sawyer, Macbeth, or any other "sinful" piece of literature. I know this is a bit much to extrapolate from a few uppity organizations getting mad at an entertainment company. But too many groups, religious or otherwise, feel the need to appoint themselves judges of society's morals. The fact remains that Americans are free to practice whatever beliefs they like, and we cannot arbitrate anothers' belief system if it causes a hitch in our theological git-along. This comes from the First Amendment, which I also have read. this is my personal option Option to do what? I believe you mean "opinion." This comes from the dictionary, which I also have read. |
