Tellurian Networks Joins the National ePrescribing Patient Safety InitiativeTM

Data Hosting Firm Ensures Privacy, Security and Connectivity for Physicians Nationwide Who Prescribe Electronically with NEPSITM

CHICAGO — August 7, 2008 — Allscripts, the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, and the founding member of the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative (NEPSI), today announced that Tellurian Networks has joined NEPSI as an executive sponsor.

Tellurian, a nationwide provider of hosting solutions, is the data center and managed service sponsor of NEPSI, a coalition of leading healthcare and technology companies that is dedicated to eliminating preventable medication errors by providing electronic prescribing at no cost to every physician in America. Since NEPSI's founding in 2007, Tellurian has ensured that the Allscripts e-prescribing solution offered by the coalition is accessible by authorized caregivers anywhere in the world, at any time.

"Tellurian is very excited to be joining the NEPSI coalition in support of increased adoption of this life-saving technology," said Joe Giroux, Chief Operating Officer of Tellurian Networks. "Our mission is to continue to maintain the trust we've built that NEPSI keeps patient information private and is consistently available for physicians and other licensed professionals whenever and wherever they need it."

Tellurian joins existing NEPSI executive sponsors Cisco, Fujitsu, Microsoft, NaviMedix, Quest Diagnostics, Sprint Nextel and Wolters Kluwer Health; healthcare sponsors Aetna, Horizon BCBS of New Jersey and WellPoint; connectivity sponsors eRx Network and SureScripts; and the NEPSI search sponsor, Google. The coalition is led by Allscripts and national sponsor, Dell, Inc.

By combining the proven leadership in e-prescribing of Allscripts, together with the power of Tellurian's secure Application Service Provider (ASP) hosting model, NEPSI is making it easier for physician practices to adopt a simple, safe and secure e-prescribing solution.

The security of electronic prescriptions has never been more important. The US Congress recently passed the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (H.R. 6331). For the first time ever, the Act provides financial incentives for physicians to adopt electronic prescribing by 2011, and financial penalties for those who choose not to use the technology.

"As more physicians take advantage of the Medicare e-prescribing incentive, we expect they will gravitate towards NEPSI, not only because we offer the only solution that's free to every physician in America but because it is safe, secure and reliable," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts and Co-Chair of NEPSI. "Working with Tellurian, NEPSI has proven that we can ensure the security and privacy of patient information, while making the solution available twenty-four hours a day, every day."

Fewer than 10 percent of US physicians currently use e-prescribing. Many physicians have been reluctant to adopt the technology because of a perception that it costs too much and requires too much time to learn and install. NEPSI addresses those barriers by providing physicians simple, safe and secure electronic prescribing at no cost.

The free NEPSI solution from Allscripts is web-based software powered by the same engine used today by more than 40,000 physicians to write millions of electronic prescriptions each year. Designed to appeal to physicians in solo practice or small groups, Allscripts e-prescribing is available free to any healthcare provider with legal authority to prescribe medications, and requires no download, no new hardware, and minimal training. The product can quickly generate secure electronic prescriptions and deliver them computer-to-computer or via electronic fax to more than 95 percent of all U.S. pharmacies.

All prescriptions are instantly checked for potentially harmful interactions with a patient's other medications using a real-time complete medication database, as well as real-time notification of insurance formulary status from leading payers, plans and pharmacy benefit managers. Clinicians also can use the solution to search and find targeted health-related information for themselves or patients using the NEPSI Custom Search Engine from Google.
