Marie

Perennial Beauty Pageant runner-up and one-time Queen of the County Fair, Marie still has her sights set on a career in the "entertainment industry".

Even as she "pays the rent" as a sales trainee at the local pharmacy, Marie keeps her many talents in tune singing at Rotary Award Dinners, sidewalk sales and various "open mike" evenings at some of the better social clubs here in Suspended Animation.

Weather permitting, you can also sample her vocal pyrotechnics over the local Drag Strip's PA system, where Marie's restful warbling soothes restive race fans between grudge matches.

No sporting crowd can become surlier quicker than dragrace devotees deprived of the smell of burning rubber and ear-splitting engines. And when the action has to shut down for mere safety reasons, be it a blown engine or an undeployed parachute, Marie's dulcet tones have turned many a would-be riot into a spontaneous singalong and lovefest (provided, of course, the rescue and clean-up crew hoses down the track in less then 3 minutes, after which, well, anything can happen!)

Following the temporary setback of her narrow defeat to Solange Serre Moi in the Chamber of Commerce's "Sing Off '95", Marie is more determined than ever to break into the big time.

Incidentally, Marie asked this reporter to mention that she is accepting a LIMITED number of engagements this fiscal year (private dinner parties, store openings, whatever!) So catch a rising star before she's called to Hollywood!
