Aunt Betty

A single gal with no ideas of settling down. Enjoys dancing 'til dawn to Cuban rhumbas...... likes her drinks strong and her men weak! Never met an opinion she didn't already have, and always ALWAYS is ready to dispense her worldly advice to anyone foolish enough to stand close to her.....

With no suppers to serve or carpools to coordinate, our "Betty" has plenty of time for her varied hobbies and interests.

Known in her day as the "Astaire of Akron", Aunt Betty won innumerable ballroom dance contests and, as captain of her high school checker team, led "Betty's Checkers" to victory in the all-county check-off of 1955. But Ms. Betty wasn't just brains, no-siree! She also set the girl's broadjump record of 16' 3" .... a record that stands to this day!

While never openly winsome for the nuclear home she never had, our Betty keeps the bug light on for any poor soul who appears at her screenporch door, whatever the need; advice for the lovelorn, tutoring for that important exam, or just a friendly game of checkers.

Aunt Betty's radio show "Tips for Teens" is broadcast every Thursday night from her root cellar between 7:15 - 7:30, and has cushioned many a youngster from life's bumps and grinds.
